Build and optimize your keyword list

Our advice for optimized keywords

In this article

Your keyword list is very important and will greatly influence your results. That is why we recommend that you think carefully about it. To help you, here are some tips:

Compile a full list

Make sure you are listing all the services and / or products you offer and for which you want to see public tenders. Also try to add all possible synonyms for your products / services.

Sort your keywords by categories

If your company is structured in several divisions or you offer products / services of several types, we advise you to group your keywords by categories and to indicate the title of each category.

When you filter your searches, you can also use the keyword filter, and thus check only the keyword categories or specific keywords that you want to detect in the calls for tenders.

This is very useful if various users of a firm are in charge of finding opportunities for different divisions for example.

Have your keywords in both english and french

In order to increase your call for tenders opportunities, we advise you to have keywords in French and English. This is also particularly important if you are also targeting markets outside Quebec. If you want to add English keywords to your account, you can send them to support@aloha-tenders.com.

Symbols and search rules

By going to your keywords page, you will see some symbols appear. Here is their meaning:

If some of your keywords are very generic and generate too many results, you should make them more specific. To help you with this, we can ignore phrases or a keyword followed by specific parts.

Example: You want to identify calls for tenders containing the keyword agility, but not in the case where this word is used in the context lean agility. We will then add a rule (in red) to ignore the results of the keyword agility when it is preceeded by lean:

How can I add or edit keywords ?

If you want to add, remove or modify keywords, just let us know, either by email or directly from the platform, by clicking on the buoy symbol at the top right (see image below). We will make the changes very quickly and let you know when it is done.

It's up to you to decide if you want Aloha to search for your keywords only in the titles of the calls for tenders, or also in the description.

Without modification on your part, the search will be carried out in both the title and the description. If you want to adjust this, use the Search in filter.
